I personally think this a great comp even for factory loads . You will need a 13 lbs spring to help your equipment run/cycle consistently but that’s absolutely it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars it I believe it can be improved by adding a single port on each side left and right of the compensator I say this because I have modified mine I. Such way an it shoots very flat now!
Got this comp to finish my G17 open gun, now to be fair I’m also running the SJC heavy magwell and frame weight w/thumb rest I used on my 34. So, I put this comp on my alpha wolf barrel last Wednesday, let it sit using the 271 red loctite until I had time to test it which was 4 days later. With an 11# recoil spring this thing is a tack driver. I can run my 150gr syntech and 147gr factory ammo though it and it shoots flat as hell. Obviously it’s not a $4k open gun, but, this comp REALLY helps when you have to be faster and more accurate shooting minor power factor. I can’t say enough about it and everything else I’ve e bought from them.
Recently purchased and installed the 5 port SJC compensator on my Glock 34. The customer service department was right on with their recommendations: Tungsten guide rod, weighted mag well, reduced recoil springs. Worked flawlessly with 115 g target ammunition. Estimated felt recoil was reduced by 35% compared to Lone Wolf compensator which was about a 20% reduction.
Great product. Great customer service.
I haven't seen the performance yet. But I would like it if there were a set screw option on the bottom. It's a loose fitting piece and must be backed off quite a bit to position properly. But the build and material seems excellent. Also I wish it were more clear of what barrels to use and NOT use. I have a stormlake barrel and there is a big space between the end of the slide and where the compensator starts. I would like it to sit flush
Purchased the brake with a barrel. Both pieces came in at the same time. At first was worried about loctite holding the brake in place as it's not firmly screwed against the barrel and bottomed out beside the frame, but this is by design. My worries were unfounded. Very stable and works great. Very satisfied with the product.
